Organization Background

Before the advent of western medicine, African societies including Uganda and Acholi as a culture were very rich in traditional medicine and approaches of treating different ailments through the administration of traditional medicine/herbs mostly got from parts of different species of trees and plants.

With the advent of western medicine, traditional medicine has faced centuries of deliberate and non-deliberate eradication attempts that has undermined the credibility and practice of traditional health practitioners that used to be the major but also supreme choice for treating and preventing different diseases and other health concerns in most Africa societies and is upon this background that a group of concerned wise women has openly come out to rejuvenate and revive the course of identification ,conservation, planting ,storage and use of traditional medicinal plants and trees to prevent extinction of the species, as well as demonstrate the efficacy and role it plays in promotion of global health, conservation, research and community education.
